Lifeguards
Virginia Pool Services actively recruits and hires young adults from area high schools and other educational organizations
for our lifeguard and manager positions at our community pools. In order to ensure a high level of work ethics and quality
job performance, all lifeguards attend our orientation class and are American Red Cross certified. Throughout the season, we have follow-up training sessions to make
sure our lifeguards are following procedures and to discuss issues they may have. In-Service training
is performed at all our pools, ensuring that the staff at each facility works together as a team in emergency situations as
well as day-to-day operations.
Pool safety is a serious and important factor in managing a pool. Virginia Pool Services strives to ensure our pool teams and our management staff is aware of current safety techniques and procedures. Continuous safety training is performed at our pools to ensure the safety of our patrons and employees.
Each pool is assigned a full time manager, assistant manager and head guard, as appropriate for the pool facility. The larger pools have two head guards, to ensure there is a member of the management team on hand at all times. These individuals are also being trained to take over the duties and responsibilities of our college bound employees at the end of the summer to ensure a smooth transition. In addition, we have a management training program each year, to prepare our guards for manager positions and enhance their performance. This program is continued in an ongoing effort to provide our pools with the best service possible.

Virginia Pool Services, Inc. has both indoor pool and
outdoor pool lifeguard positions with competitive rates. We try to let our lifeguards work at their community or within
a reasonable distance. Lifeguards can also work at a variety of pools. Schedules are designed to meet lifeguard
needs with day and evening hours available. Year round lifeguard positions are also available at our indoor pools.
